Symbolism of being call "Hog" in A Lesson Before Dying

 In A Lesson Before Dying, a man name Jefferson was call a hog. He was call a hog by his attorney. The reason why his attorney call him a hog was be he was trying to help him. The way that his attorney was helping him was by trying to say that he was dumb. The attorney wanted people to think that Jefferson was dumb and that he could of never plan to kill someone. The attorney aslo call him a fool an many other things. However  even when all the words that he was saying was not the right thing to call him, he was just trying to help Jefferson so he would not go to jail.
